In August of 2021, Josias Fierro, Merari Reyes, and Brian Goodall shared a vision to create a song of blessing for our Tucson home. The three of them spent the next few months praying about content, deciding on themes, choosing Scripture, developing melodies, laboring over lyrics, and experimenting with chord progressions. Our hearts' cry was for God to bless our town, our beautiful home -- that it would be a good place for everyone. A good place to work, to play, to raise a family, to grow up in, and to live in. Our desire was for it to be a place of peace, freedom, justice, and good emotional, mental, and physical health. And ultimately, we desired for the people of Tucson to experience the goodness of God and the love of Jesus. In May of 2022, our three songwriters recruited Rudy Martinez (drums), Carlos Castro (guitar), and Noe Gomez (bass) to join them in the studio. These six musicians from five different congregations across Tucson were drawn together to record this song of blessing for our desert home. May Tucson be a good place for all people!
